Special Projects Committee

Plymouth County Water Works Association is an all volunteer organization of water works professionals that are dedicated to the ideal of sharing information and educating one another for the purpose of better serving our communities.  We understand the importance of potable water—we have all built our livelihoods around it—so what better initiative to embark upon but to take our associations model to aid one another and look outwards towards others in need. 

Embracing this characteristic PCWWA formed a new Special Projects Committee in the Fall of 2010.  Our first project is working with El Porvenir to rehabilitate an existing well in the village of El Bijague, Nicaragua.  The PCWWA Board of Directors saw fit to commit the funds required complete this project and sent a donation of $2,369.00 to El Porvenir in December 2010.  This foresight enabled the well rehabilitation in February 2011 during the dry season in Nicaragua.  We could only make this decision because we know we have compassionate and generous members that would heed the call to be involved  and cover the expenses of this project.  Ten $250.00 donations from our membership will empower the villagers of Bijague to improve their living standards through the sustainable rehabilitation of their well.  We are well on our way with commitments from the companies list on the left side of this page.

Who is El Porvenir?
