WATER SUPERINTENDENT
The Town of Hingham seeks a full-time Water Superintendent responsible for the oversight and management of the Hingham Water System, which will be operated by a third party vendor carrying necessary Massachusetts Water Supply Licenses Grade D3 and Grade T4. The Water Superintendent will need an understanding of water systems operations to exercise independent judgment regarding appropriate operation and maintenance of the municipal water treatment plant, pump stations, equipment, and facilities for the Town’s multi-community water distribution system, including directing subordinates, contract consultants, and third party service providers, and developing long and short-range operational and capital plans for the entirety of the Hingham Water System. Massachusetts Drinking Water Supply Licenses preferred but must be attained within one year of employment. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required. A candidate for this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field, and 8-10 years of industry experience, with at least 4 years at the supervisory level, or equivalent education and experience.
