Who are we looking for?

Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid MA Driver’s license
Possess and maintain a Massachusetts Drinking Water Grade 3 Treatment License for primary operators for Grade IV treatment facilities in accordance with Massachusetts Drinking Water Regulations or the ability to obtain within 1 year
Knowledge of the principles and practices of water treatment plant operations; operating principles of valves, pumps, and motors; safe work practices
Able to type and enter data in computer spreadsheets and data management systems.
General knowledge of computer operations
Basic writing, verbal communication, and math skills
Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with those contacted during the course of work
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and distance vision as well as the ability to distinguish color and shades.
Work Environment: This position is based in the water treatment system and work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to some noise, silica, dust, fumes, smoke, gases, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, and vibrations.  Incumbent may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, and ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water and other liquid materials.

 

What will you be doing?

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Diagnose operating problems and perform or direct necessary corrective actions
Enter data, prepare reports, and maintain records of plant operations
Comply and report non-compliance with SUEZ and Project Policies and Procedures
Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses
Read gauges and meters, start/stop equipment and operate valves to route and control flow, make process control adjustments, determine and set proper chemical dosage and flow rates, operate PLCs and SCADA systems
Inspect equipment to identify and perform needed maintenance and repairs
Record and enter data into computers, make entries in plant logs, and prepare a variety of written reports
