Plymouth County Water Works is proud to announce our next training opportunity. Training is FREE for all members and only $50.00 for non-members. All Massachusetts Certified Drinking Water Operators need the required continuing education credits to renew their license(s). Every certified operator must obtain between 5 and 20 training contact hours (TCH) every two years depending on the licenses grade and all licenses expire December 31st of odd years. Remember all certified operators need the required TCH’s licenses by the end of the year!

Hydrant and Valve Maintenance and Repair

  • We will be focusing on the following topics:
  • Hydrant Types and Options/specifications
  • Proper Hydrant Installation
  • Recommended operating procedures-Troubleshooting-Disassembly and repair (live on demo. Hydrant)
  • Installation of extension and breakaway kits
  • Discussion of safety procedures which should be followed

Presenter:

Dave Riter, New England Sales Representative,
Mueller Company / U S Pipe Valve and Hydrant

Dave has over 20 years of experience in the water works industry and is factory trained in repair, maintenance, and installation of all Mueller and U S Pipe products. This includes Fire Hydrants, Gate Valves, Drilling and Tapping Machines, restraint products, and Pipe Repair Products. He has conducted over 200 product training classes in all six New England States to various Municipal Water Departments, Engineering Companies, Fire Departments and Private Water Companies

Cancellation Policy:

If you cannot attend you must email us at cancel_class@pcwwa.org by 8:00 AM on the morning of the training.  All no shows who do not contact PCWWA prior to this deadline will be charged a $25 fee.

Attendance Requirement:

Participants must attend 90% of the course to be eligible for TCHs.

*Non-Members who attend and wish to join PCWWA will have their $25 PCWWA Application fee waived provided payment for the course is made on the day of the class and the participant fills out a PCWWA Member Application on the same day.

If we (PCWWA) know before 3 pm the day before this class that inclement weather will cause cancellation we will send all registrants an email. If the cancellation is called after 3 pm the day before the meeting please visit www.pcwwa.org for class updates.
