HIGHWAY LABORER
The Town of Avon seeks an energetic DPW Highway Laborer. Responsible for work relating to the maintenance and repair of the town’s streets, sidewalks, infrastructure, and other related work as required. Applicants should have knowledge of techniques and principles of road repair and maintenance as well as snow and ice removal and must be able to perform strenuous work with the ability to operate machinery and other motor equipment. High school diploma with two years of construction and maintenance experience required. Massachusetts CDL license with airbrake endorsement, Massachusetts Hoisting Class 2A and 1C are preferred. There is a three-month probationary period. Class PW 1/1, $24.59 per hour plus excellent benefits. The work week is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Candidates must have the ability to work overtime as necessary.
