Equipment Operator
Job Description:
The Town of Medfield, MA is seeking applicants for the position of Equipment Operator. The position works under the direction of the Highway Supervisor and Highway Crew Chief, and performs skilled manual work of a routine nature operating vehicles and other equipment. Assists with all public works projects including building and repairing streets, driveways and sidewalks; installing and repairing culverts; and performing construction clean-up and landscaping projects associated with Town construction projects. May be assigned to plow snow, haul trash or assist with construction projects. Duties often require the exercise of judgement in operating and maintaining a variety of public works equipment and in applying technical expertise to a particular situation. This role is responsible for improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. High school graduation plus experience as a light equipment operator; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid Massachusetts Class D driver’s license. Possession of a valid Massachusetts Class B CDL driver’s license within 1 year of hire. Possession of a valid Massachusetts Class 2B Hydraulics license within 6 months of hire.
Full time, benefit eligible, non-union position, Hourly range: $23.74-$29.72 DOQ.
