MassDEP issues draft changes to Drinking Water Regulations, Notifies of Funding

Draft changes to 310 CMR 22, the MA Drinking Water Regulations, were issued for public comment last month. DEP sent public notice to water suppliers of the regulations changes and funding availability by letter of December 20. See DEP PFAS Letter to PWS 12-20-19

Name & Citation of Regulation(s): Massachusetts Drinking Water Regulations – 310 CMR 22.00
Brief Explanation and Rationale for Proposed Changes: MassDEP is proposing to amend 310 CMR 22.00 to establish a Total Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 20 ppt for six PFAS contaminants: perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS), perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA), perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA), and perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA).
