Light Equipment Operator/Laborer (Water Supply)

Town of Bridgewater, MA

The Town of Bridgewater is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the role of Light Equipment Operator/Laborer.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• General laboring work, requiring some skills such as pipe laying, installing water services, replacing valves and, in emergencies, installing water meters and reading water meters

• Will be able to operate a compressor, jack hammer, water pump, repair leaks , dig trenches by hand, tap water mains, drive truck, repair or replace street valves, assist in repair of equipment and cleaning of the garage and stockroom and will be on call for emergencies and will do all work as assigned or required by the Superintendent

• Answers directly to the Water Superintendent. In the absence of the Water Superintendent; will answer directly to the Foreman; in the absence of both the Water Superintendent and the Foreman, will answer directly to the Lead Man

EDUCATION: High School or Trade School education or equivalent training or experience

Salary:
This position follows the Grade 7 of the AFSCME Compensation & Classification Schedule – Position Range $38,937.93 – $51,089.98
