Water Treatment Plant Operator/Laborer
The Town of Halifax seeks a full-time Water Treatment Plant Operator/Laborer. This position will be responsible for the operation, repair and maintenance of the water treatment and distribution system, and other public works duties as assigned. Applicant must be capable of light to moderate facility maintenance tasks as required and be able to work in extreme weather conditions. Applicants with water operation experience are preferred.
The position will require a minimum of a D1 and T1 water operator licenses, with the candidate committing to obtaining these licenses within six months of date of hire. Also, within one year, the candidate must obtain a hoisting license.
A CORI/SORI and background check is required.
This is a union position.
The starting hourly pay range is $24.75 to $29.27.
Candidates must be available for alternating, on-call coverage, during nights and weekends.
